The Paranoia2 is a hardware tape encryption appliance designed to work with all server and tape technologies currently available, The Paranoia2 utilises a unique encryption technique by using two interlaced 3DES encryption engines and pre-compression to ensure that the amount of data backed up does not increase in size as it is written to tape. The Paranoia2 is the second generation of the Paranoia product. It has a SCSI interface for both host and tape drive available as either LVD or HVD types.
Paranoia2 supports stand alone tapes, tape libraries and tape silos. It is fully transparent to the host and can even pass diagnostic commands and information between the host and drives.
Upgrades and enhancements can be simply uploaded from the supplied GUI program and this can even be done in situ by the customer if required.

The unit automatically detects the WWN of the connected tape drive and sets the ParanoiaFF published WWN to the same to ensure a smooth a straightforward integration into the current environment.
